Kia ora and welcome to G.A.Y.!!
My name is Tony Reed and I’ve just taken over as host of G.A.Y., Coast Access Radio’s programme for gay people and their friends on the Kapiti/Horowhenua Coast and beyond, from my friend Steve Green.
I am semi-retired, so have a bit more time to prepare for the programmes. I came to New Zealand from Britain in 1998, and settled in the Wellington region, as I knew I would. My main interests are history, politics, film & drama and classical music. So you will be hearing something about these topics on the programme. Bit it IS your programme, so please tell me what else you would like to hear about.
If you’d like to interact with the programme, comment on any issues raised, suggest ideas for future programme or music to include, or would like to be my guest on the programme become a friend of our Kapiti GAY Facebook page. Search for “Kapiti GAY” in Google and you’ll find us!!
There’s interest from people of all ages, even from as far away as South America, so much so that I regularly have to turn people away for fear of swamping the New Zealanders joining! We also seem to have more than our fair share of performers joining the page.
I hide everyone in the Newsfeed, not because I don’t find your feeds interesting, but simply because the volume is HUGE, changing by the minute and flooding any messages relating to the programme! I hope you’ll join me getting the message out that there are gay people in Kapiti. Use the page to keep in touch with the programme and perhaps make new friends here in Kapiti/Horowhenua.
